**PawSD** is a distributed directory system inspired by DNS, [[https://files.spritely.institute/papers/petnames.html|petnames]], and various other similar concepts. For a friendly overview, see [[Overview]]; the rest of this documentation describes its technical details.

Its documentation doesn't really belong on the PawPub wiki! it's just here temporarily until I put it somewhere better.
